WBTA Memberday 2009 Competition Results

Thank you to the 27 fisherman who made a concerted effort to grace us with their presence! Fortunately the cooler weather during the early morning helped us to catch quite a few fish and again in the late afternoon with fish rising to take some food of the surface we even managed to take some on a dry fly.

Take a Brake After the Moring Session

The annual Interclub competition was held on the 20th June 2009 at the Waterval Boven club waters and what a brilliant days fishing and you couldn’t have asked for better weather.  We are happy to report that there were 7 teams that entered and we hope to get the other neighboring clubs to join in the fun next year.

Here are some interesting statistics regarding the days fishing……..78 fish were caught by 25 anglers. The winning team caught 15 fish and although they had a very quiet morning there afternoon session went very well using some “wiggly dog tail pattern”. A large variety of different fly patterns were used, from a “Hamilton’s killer” to Red Setters, “spietkops” and many more.
