1. Fishing in association waters is
open only to members and visitors as defined in the association constitution.
Note: Fishing times are from sunrise to sunset.
2. No member or visitor may fish in association waters unless:
2. 1 They first obtain a day permit from the officer regulating the
fishing, obtainable Monday to Friday midday from the Boven Trout Fly Tackle
Shop, and Monday to Sunday at the Clubhouse.
2.2 In possession of an association membership card and day permit,
or in the case of a temporary member (visitor), a day permit which will
be on hand when using association facilities. The regulating officer
has powers of discretion to accept or refuse temporary membership.
2.3 In possession of provincial trout fishing licence.
2.4 In good standing with the association.
2.5 Undertakes to comply with all rules formulated by the committee.
2 6 Temporary members will be permitted to fish the town dams and river
beats if they are available on the day.
3. The following booking regulations apply for the river:
3.1 Booking must be made through the regulating officer who will write their name
against a beat on the "Beatboard".
3.2 Fishing is restricted to the "beat" booked by this regulating officer.
Any person wishing to change his "beat" during the period
must first cancel his booking for that "beat" with the regulating
officer and request permission to fish new "beat".
3.3 Association members may book water in advance, provided that this,
booking is confirmed to the regulating officer between 24 and 48 hours
prior to commencement of fishing. If the regulating officer does not
receive confirmation within 24 hours of commencement of fishing, he
has the right to re-allocate the "beat" in question.
3.4 May not book more than two "beats" on any one day and
may not book the same "beat" on consecutive days.
3.5 Shall restrict their fishing to the "beat" allocated.
3.6 The same regulations apply to temporary members (visitors).
4. Lighting of fires is prohibited except in areas specifically demarcated
for this purpose.
5. May not be accompanied by pets while fishing.
6. Must take particular care not to leave litter behind them.
7. It is the responsibility of members and temporary members to adhere
to the bag limits applicable. Bags are not transferable. Thus if two
permit holders are fishing and the bag limit is two fish each, a permit
holder is limited to two fish regardless of whether or not the other
permit holders catch any fish.
8. Bag limits are set by the committee and permit holders who have taken
the limit must cease fishing for the day or obtain a new fishing permit from the bailiff before continue fishing. Bag limit at present is a
combined total of 2 fish per day - dam and river.
9. Fishing on association waters: permit holders may not wade, use
boats, float tubes or any other form of aid.
10. May not fish association waters other than with recognised fly fishing
equipment. The committee or their appointed representative shall have
the sole power to judge whether or not particular equipment conforms
to the above description.
11. Fish cleaned at the water's, must be cleaned at the water's edge and entrails returned to
the water.
