Waterval Boven lies amidst one of the prime fly fishing areas in the Mpumalanga Province of South Africa, with Machadodorp, Belfast, Dullstroom, Sabie and Lydenburg within easy reach. The club boasts three well stocked dams and approximately six kilometres of river fishing is available on the Elands River. The Waterval Boven Trout Association is one of the largest fly fishing clubs in the area.

The association has two main objectives:

	To provide reasonably priced river and dam fishing for members and day visitors and to maintain and improve the water in and around Boven as one of Mpumalanga's premier trout fishing areas.
	Association waters remain open throughout the year, stocking of the dams and river takes place on a regular basis to provide some of the best fishing in Mpumalanga.

S A National Championships:

Ladies results:
Congratulations to the ladies of the WBTA who took part in the S A championships which was held in the Natal midlands at the beginning of November 2009. Marietjie Davies took the honors for the second year running with Renthia Heyns finished in the 4th place, Jenny Lord 12th and Marlize Heyns 17th. All of them have been invited to take part in the Protea trials which will be held in February 2010.
Men’s results:
The men’s B-Nationals were also held in November at Verlorenkloof, Mpumalanga and the following WBTA club members participated, Dries de Bruyn, Ronnie Smith and Chris de Beer.

Stocking: The dams and river are stocked with rainbow and golden trout.

Natural breading takes place in the river during the winter months. Some sections of the river contain wild trout.
